Let’s Speed Up! provides students with the basic English extensively used in the professional world of the motor industry.

This book is built on the academic content of a professional coursebook, Familia Profesional de Transporte y mantenimiento de vehículos, in Spain and adapted to suit the self-reflexive demands of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (Council of Europe 2001).

In Let’s Speed Up! students practice both the receptive and productive skills of English: listening, reading, writing and speaking, through up-to-date reading texts, motivating activities and interaction with peers. The grammar and vocabulary exercises are all included in the book so that students can use it as a workbook too. Apart from individual and group classwork, students will also be required to work in teams searching for extra information to expand their knowledge (projects, helpful websites, etc). Special emphasis is placed on the work of oral skills, as communication is crucial for learners’ professional development. Additional material for extra practice is provided in the Appendices at the end of the book.

This book includes an audio CD for the listening exercises.
